Today was our second meeting with calvary Children’s Home.  This meeting was to set the build dates for our inaugural year  of “Loving Hands Ornaments”.  ”Loving Hands Ornaments”, with the help of Holiday Harbor Marina and BizWire, is working to help fund Christmas for some 50 kids in children’s homes.  The following is a brief synopsis of the short history of “Loving Hands Ornaments”;

I thought about the concept of “Loving Hands Ornaments” for years, but unfortunately it was always when the ornaments came out of the box and  to late to implement the concept.  My vision was this:   Work with children to make Christmas ornaments.  Help the kids make ornaments for themselves and make an ornament for us to sell to the public to help other children in unfortunate circumstances.  Thats it!  A very simple concept with dual rewards.  The children have a specialized focus kraft time that will hopefully give them fond memories of Christmas and an ornament to keep for themselves.  The purchaser will have a tangible reminder that they have made a difference in someones life.  This is a give give opportunity for all.  How awesome to have a handmade Christmas ornament on your tree that reminds you of a child’s fulfilled Christmas wish!

This is our inaugural year and as such we are starting small.  We have been blessed to find two homes that understand the vision and are on board 100%.  Starting small, we will have a limited number of ornaments for sale this year.  We will be  focusing on larger donors to make each ornament sold a big impact for the child that made it.  In future years we plan to work with schools, churches,  and other civic organizations to make thousands of kid crafted ornaments available.  We hope to help less fortunate children, both in children’s homes and in struggling homes,  throughout the state.  We hope to have a positive impact not only on the children that receive that special christmas gift, but the family who purchased an ornament as well.   

 The program is 100% funded so 100% of donations will go directly to the home your ornament comes from.

Loving Hands Ornaments “From Us To You and Back”

We are excited to see this dream become a reality and can’t wait to post more as everything starts falling in place.  Our first ornament party is scheduled for next Monday, the 24th of October.  We will be working alongside the children building ornaments and decorating some halloween cookies as well.  This will be a rewarding day for everyone involved and I would like to personally thank everyone involved.
